Math
Starting Monday we will begin a new unit on math. We will be looking at decimals: rounding, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing numbers that have decimals up to the hundredths. Here are a number of links to sites and resources which will help reinforce our learning. Also, please check under resources to find an links to alternative math tests and the Math Makes Sense Grade 5 Homework and Practice book.

We will continue with our Novel Study and of course, reinforcing our language and mathematical skills through Daily Language and our Bellwork.
Science
In science we have been learning about Matter. So far we have covered the Three States of Matter, Solid, Liquid, and Gas, as well as Plasma. We have looked at the Properties of Solids and Liquids and learned how to identify, measure, and describe them using the scientific language. This week we will conduct further experiments with liquids and learn the properties of gases.
Special Activities: This Wednesday we will view a performance of Kids On the Block
